Our History

HISTORY OF TATCCU

TECHIMAN AREA TEACHERS CO-OPERATIVE CREDIT UNION (TATCCU) was established on 3rd April, 1970, under the visionary leadership of Mr. Emmanuel Owusu-Ansah. Registered under Paragraph 5(1) of the Co-operative Societies Decree (NLCD 252) of 1968 (Registration No. BAR/NC/203) and affiliated with the Ghana Co-Operative Credit Unions Association Limited (CUA) (Affiliation No. CUA/BAR/307), we specialize in deposit-taking and investment services.

Beginning with about 50 dedicated teacher members near Unasco-Techiman Ahmadiyya Road, we embarked on a mission to provide financial empowerment to educators.

From our humble beginnings, we relocated to Pomaakrom where we served our members with unwavering dedication. Our vision expanded beyond the teaching profession, welcoming members from all walks of life for mutual benefit and community development.

Today, we proudly operate from our own TATCCU Building on Techiman-Nkoranza Road, near the Techiman Municipal Education Office. With over 30,000 members across 4 strategic branches( Head office-Techiman, Tanoso Branch, Tuobodom Branch, Offuman Branch), we continue to be a beacon of financial stability and community empowerment.
